All New Beginnings: Goodbye 2023 and Hello 2024

From January to December 2023 was a year to remember! So, I decided, why not make my first post a recap of the past and an introduction to the future? This time last year, I was on my couch watching the ball drop in NYC, filled with excitement for the year ahead. 2023 was the year I turned 18 and became a legal adult. Finally, I can vote! It was also the year I graduated high school and started college. It seemed daunting then, but looking back, I realize... what was I so worried about? Of course, there were setbacks: breakups, college rejections, leaving the comfort of home, moving to a new city, and many more. However, life is an adventure, and I know I will end up where I am meant to be.

To backtrack a little bit... I am from New Jersey and moved to Florida in the summer of 2021. Surprisingly, it was an easy adjustment transitioning from one school to another halfway through my high school career. Truly, it was one of the best decisions, if not the BEST decision, I ever made. I made amazing friends and created so many memories that will last a lifetime. So, to anyone out there considering making the tough decision to move and start a new life... I say take that chance! You never know who you will meet or the experiences you will have.

Like every high school senior in 2023, I went through the rough college application process. I applied to several colleges but ultimately chose the College of Charleston in South Carolina. Unsure whether I wanted to stay in Florida or return up north, I settled on a happy medium in SC. Charleston, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful cities, and I've been to many places. The southern charm, the beaches, and, of course, the city itself. I am majoring in International Business, and COFC has an excellent program with numerous opportunities for international internships. There are plenty of academic and social opportunities I plan to pursue.

2023 was a year that will stay with me. The amount of personal growth, confidence, and setbacks I experienced in a year was astonishing in my opinion. However, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Now, it's all in the past, and 2024 is officially here. I'm incredibly excited for this upcoming year. There is so much planned, and I truly believe it will be a year of success and happiness. Stick with me while I document my life on this page because there are lots of excitement and surprises to come!
